Medical Travel Services
What would you do if you had a medical emergency away from home? With Assist America Emergency Travel Assistance Services, you now have access to qualified physicians and medical facilities around the world.
Assist America offers many assistance services to NASE Members when they travel 100 miles or more from home including:
Medical Consultation:
Calls to the Operations Center are evaluated by medical staff and referred to appropriate medical facilities and Western-trained physicians.
Emergency Medical Evacuation:
If appropriate medical facilities are not available where you are, Assist America will utilize whatever mode of transport, equipment and medical personnel necessary to evacuate you to the nearest facility capable of providing appropriate care.
Medical Repatriation:
When you’’ve been stabilized to the satisfaction of the Assist America Medical Director and your attending physician, and are ready to be discharged, Assist America will assist you with transport home, when medically necessary.
Prescription Assistance
Should a Member forget or lose their prescription medication, Assist America will assist the Member in filling that prescription.
Foreign Hospital Admission Guarantee:
Assist America provides eligible members with a guarantee of hospital admission when they are outside the U.S. by validating their health insurance coverage.
Transportation to Join a Patient:
If you are traveling alone, and will be hospitalized for more than seven days, Assist America will provide economy round-trip transportation to the place of hospitalization for a friend or family member.
Care for Minor Children:
When minor children are left unattended due to a medical incident, Assist America will provide them transportation to a designated family member or friend.
Other Services available include legal and interpreter referrals and return of mortal remains.
